Etsy sellers and Rijksstudio: plenty of inspiration!
Rijksstudio has joined forces with Etsy, the popular online shop for handmade and vintage items. Several Etsy fans have already made a number of products inspired by the enormous collection of the Rijksmuseum, all of which are available in high resolution online and can be downloaded for free via Rijksstudio.
For example, Norwegian Wood made a Rijksstudio lingerie set and a silk kimono, Puur Anders designed unique photographic flowers and leaves, LAPHILIE made a series of hand painted plates, Oelwein made art prints and Tovicorrie designed a beautiful leather clutch handbag with a special Javanese print inspired from the Rijksmuseum collection.

The Rijksmuseum Rijksstudio has been around for about a year and already has 150.000 objects from the Rijksmuseum collection. In a year about 112.000 Rijksstudios were made. High time for a competition: the Rijksstudio Award! A design competiton, but everyone was free to enter.
The winner of the Rijksstudio Award made the best design using Rijksstudio. So it is inspired by the collection of the Rijksmuseum. All forms of art were allowed to submit (design, autonomous art, applied art, photo, video). For more information, check out: www.rijksmuseum.nl.

Blue Mondays are good for one thing and one thing only: staying in bed and waiting for Tuesday. But these blue interiors are blues free… they’ll make you feel royally great. Royal blue goes well with many colors and materials. We’re seeing more light shades of blue as well, which match well with shades of grey for example.

Create your own color swatches
Make your own color swatches for your home using colors from nature. You can easily compose your own color swatch by gathering beautiful rocks, leaves, twigs etc. The beach is one of those places filled with beautiful treasures with amazing faded colors from exposure to the elements and the salty water. Old materials such as vintage objects can inspire you on the use and application of colors.
